wee query time - Malaysian GBA famicom edition

I recently bought a lovely new GBA super famicom edition SP, since i sold my last one i've been crying myself to sleep

anyway the item was sold to me as a Japanese version and when it arrived i spotted the difference right away, Its only for sale in Malaysia, Singapore and the philippines

the box is bigger than the Jpn version and all the writing is in english

anyway my question is: is that really the only differences between hardware for the Malaysian, Singapore Markets compared with the Japanese market

i know some here probably including myself like to get Japan editions of games instead of the korean or hong kong versions

but its lovely and it there is no other difference then i will keep it, i just dont want it to be a cheap hong Kong rip off

I recently bought a new jp famciom sp myself, and indeed there lovely cant imagine there'd be any regional variations? (other than packaging) if youd like me to check anything on mine for comparision tonight lmk. As for hk rip offs, does such a thing exist?? I know you can buy famicon style red & white replacment shells for regular sp's but still..

The one I got from play-asia when they first came out was a Singapore or Malaysia edition (don't remember which). Was pissed off about it because I had paid about $5-10 extra for a "Japan" version.

The box was the same size as any other Japanese GBA SP and still had Japanese text though.

Did it come with a UK style charger Jason?

I bought an Asian Famicom SP from Play-Asia a while back. iirc it came with a 220v charger (w/ UK style plug), an English language manual & it had the wording about Malaysia, Singapore etc. on it (I think).

Pretty sure the box was slightly bigger than the Japanese version (I used to have both models). Think the reason for it being bigger was to incorporate the larger UK style charger.

the charger is a 2 pin affair but its much bigger than the Japanese PSU

On the Jpn PSU the 2 pins could be foldedinto the body of the PSU and thats why the box was way smaller

but yeah the manual is in english as well
