    Should I be concerned?

Hi. A few months ago I was spammed at a hotmail account by someone using backscatter to spoof my email address and also forge it to send spam to others.

Now at my non-hotmail account I received an email from someone which although looks like Spam features my real name in the Subject: header and in the To: header. I don't believe I've ever given out my real name to strangers publically on the net, so is this something more sinister (i.e. compromised account)?

    Header information:

Own any domains? Whois entries are the only thing I can think of off the top of my head that might include both your email address and your real name, and are publically accessible.

Or perhaps you were on someone's address list and they had their machine compromised by spam robots. What about forums? I hear sometimes about bulletin boards that get broken into and their member databases are stolen. Or it could be an unscrupulous e-tailer, selling on your details when you registered with them.

Not familiar with Fastmail, do they have something rediculous like a searchable whitepage?

No domain names. It could have indeed been someone's address list taken from IM or email but I've not taken any chances.

Your possible explanations all sound feasiable though. Thank you.
