Which firmware was it? Some of the custom ones have recovery menus for this eventuality.
Other than that, you can get the modchip which effectively repairs it since it boots from the chip's flash instead of the onboard one. There's also calling up Sony support and getting it repaired that way, which will be free if you PSP is still under warranty.

OK, so that recovery menu option is out.
It's not cheap because the chip itself is a bit on the expensive side and it's a complete bugger to install. I'm not sure of any UK places that do it but ModChipStore in the US charges $229.95 for chip and installation. $129.95 if you give them your own chip to install.

btw, u have to hold the r button before u turn it on, have you defo lost that facilty?
Also the epsilon has a debug mode similar to the holding r function, which lets you run an eboot, ie 2.71 firmware and install that into the onboard firmware, which then allows you to run the epsilon bios.Last edited by bootmonster; 02-11-2006, 14:39.

I've heard some places will install the chip, unbrick it and then uninstall the chip for a cheaper sum.
G2Fitters might do this as well, Im not too sure but the guys there are VERY friendly, give me a call.
I've leave the chip in anyway, I love mine, runs EVERYTHING you throw at it and its faster as a result as well
