Right time to buy X360?

Well, after all the dust has settled I've decided to get myself a 360 but am curious as to whether they're a good price at the moment or if they'll go down appreciably after christmas.

Thoughts? Worth waiting?

They won't go down in price til after the PS3 launch I would of thought.

Yeah there is a pack wit two wireless controllers and PGR3 for ?300 which is worth it.
I would assume a price drop will come next year, but I think it is worth getting a 360 this month.

If you get that pack from GAME, you can have Table Tennis, The Outfit or King Kong chucked in for free too, and a Half Price game

Yeah, it's a good time to buy. The price is unlikely to drop for a while when the PS3 isn't out and is so much more expensive anyway, and plenty of retailers are doing good deals with games. The official one with PGR3 and a wireless controller for ?300 is a great deal alone.

I was thinking of holding out for a price drop and/or the long-rumoured new hardware revision, but the impending release of Gears of War and relatively distant prospect of any price drops made me buy it now. Microsoft's line is that the price of the PS3 'gave them a price drop' and 'the luxury of waiting' (subtle dig there!) so I wouldn't hold your breath.

Which is why I just bought mine in GameStation this week. I got a premium pack with Ghost Recon for ?280, which works out like getting the game for nothing.

There's another good bundle in there of a premium machine with PGR3, an extra controller and any other game of your choice for ?310; and Argos are doing a PGR3 bundle with a boatload of free accessories such as a steering wheel. I tried two different branches and both had their own in-store deals too so it might be worth checking your local for a bargain.

Im looking tyo buy one soon too, been lookin around and the best i could see is the game bundle. Although amazon have some good ones. Might be worth a look there.

I was holding on in case there was a price drop before Christmas, to compete with the release of the PS3. However as soon as I heard Sony screwed the Europeans over with their delay I figured MS would take advantage and postpone any price drops on the premium pack. So, just over a month ago I dropped something like ?350 on a 360 with Saints Row, N3, a VGA cable and a play & charge kit. Wasn't a bad bundle I thought.

It might be worth waiting just a few more weeks, just until all the retailers have their Christmas offers out.

I've been hanging on for ages and GoW is nearly enough to tempt me but no, I'm waiting for the hardware revision come Q1 next year and I still reckon they'll be a price drop around the same time. I'm looking at you Forza 2 pack... Also gives me longer to save up my pennies for the required lcd.

Plenty of other stuff to play in the meantime...

The argos pack is great value at the moment as it gives you the option to select any game. Also you get the MAd catz pack as well, not the best but still free
