    Jap PS2 software & accessories

Right well today I kinda did something well a little silly & got myself a second hand white Jap PS2 with Gradius V

So now I clearly need some more games to go with it (Bang goes my 360 for another couple of months but oh well) so what should I look at getting???

I love 2D Shooters & 2D Fighters so currently have the folloiwng on my shortlist...

    Vampire Chronicles
    Garou: Mark of the Wolves
    King of Fighters XI
    Street Fighter Zero Generations
    Shikigami No Shiro
    Radilgy
    R-Type Final

    Thats it.

So are there any others I should add to that list??

Also as I've been away from the PS2 scene for absolutley ages I have no idea what other good games are out that would be worth getting...feel free to list almost anything as I'm happy to try different styles of games as well as the types listed above...well apart from RPG's as my Japanese is non existent & I'like to be able to understand what I'm playing

And finally I will need an arcade stick to go with it so what do you recommend that wont cost the earth?

Thanks for all the help guys much appreciated.

There are tonnes of top class shooters for the PS2. Off the top of my head you could go for:

DoDonPachi Dai-ou-jou (awesome but very hard)
Espgaluda (probably my favourite Cave shooter on the PS2)
Gigawing Generations (not as good as GW2 but that is sadly Dreamcast only)
Homura (I'm not too fond of this)
    Ibara
    Mushimesama
    Raiden III

In terms of 2D fighters you've pretty much got everything I'd recommend on your list except Street Fighter III: Third Strike. The greatest 2D fighter bar none and the PS2 conversion is cracking

For your shoot em ups, there is psyvariar 2 as well. I would say this is pretty essential, I am just getting to grips with it myself but it warrants its reputation and devotion.
I have a neo geo replica arcade stick I got from play-asia and although it is lovely I find it a bit light, plasticy and noisy. I too will be interested to see what other sticks people are using, is the namco any good ?.
I think you have made a good decision getting the japanese ps2, hope you enjoy it.

        Thanks for the input guys.

        Well I have just ordered...

        Shikigami No Shiro II
        King of Fighters XI
        Mushihimesama

Which should keep me going for a while.

I was going to get Ibara but I saw that there is a cheaper version due in the New Year & I'm more than happy to wait till then for it.

As for an Arcade stick I still dont know what to get
I'm leaning towards one of the Hori's on Play-Asia but still not sure which one

Cant wait to play some more shooters

Good choice of shooters youre getting, im after the limited edition version of mushihimesama. Missed out on it new last xmas so im waiting for one on e-bay at a good price.Shikigami no shiro II is a great game and really suprised me with its depth of play via the different characters and there weapons.
Beware of the shipping costs if you get an arcade stick from play-asia as my neo geo one ended up costing me loads after shipping and then the customs tax as well. Worth it but very expensive, as long as you are aware its not too bad but I was quite suprised. I agree that the hori stick is the one of choice as it can be modded easily with sanwa parts by the sound of it, next one on e-bay is mine !!
          Enjoy your shooting

I recommend Soul Calibur II stick if they have that. Cheap usually as well. Enjoy

I wouldn't bother with Radilgy on PS2. Get it on the Dreamcast if you can.
