Xbox 360 TV connection problems

I usually play my 360 on my Sammy LCD and i've never had a problem. The other day i decided to try my 360 on my 42" Hitachi plasma and it looked awful. I'm connecting it up with the offical component and the colours were horrid and i was getting terrible interferance when i had the sound going through my amp via the digital out.
Any ideas?

You might have already done this, but my Sony Bravia defaults on 'Vivid' colour preset and it looks plain horrible... was fine when set back to standard.

Go through the menu and turn off the so-called image 'enhancement' crap.
