Burner+enclosure

My ext burner is refusing to burn anything at the moment so Im looking for any alternatives.

Has to be external cos Im running a laptop, was thinking of a SATA Plextor to bung in an external enclosure via USB2.

Any suggestions/advice is greatly appreciated on this, also any preferred burning software as well?

You're better off getting a SATA PCMCIA Card and
hook the external sata drive directly onto it, or use a firewire.
To use USB connection, for optical burner/recorders,
isn't something i would recommend.

In case you want to get a sata pcmcia card, make sure it is
somehow has a brand, so you can get drivers updated easily.
