The PAL 360 playing region 1 DVD's?

Hi!.
I'm sure I saw on here somewhere that whatever region your 1st disc is then that will be the only region DVDs u can play on your 360.
For instance, if u have a PAL console but play a region 1 DVD as your 1st ever DVD on it then it will only recognise region 1 DVDs.

Is this true or was I just trippin?

I heard this is the case with the XB1. You get that little dongle thing to plug in a joypad port, and whichever region you insert first, is the one you're stuck with.

I remember reading something about that too. However, I tried a region 2 disc in my US 360 a couple of weeks back & it wouldn't play it........pretty sure that was the 1st disc I'd ever tried as I don't use my 360 for dvd playback. Really just wanted to see how it looked upscaled to 720p.

Was the case with the Xbox 1 though as Leon Ahoy! says.
