Hong Kong/ Japanese ps3 questions!

I would like to know if its possible to change the locale of the PS3 to United Kingdom and also is it possible to view the Playstation Store in english as i would like to import one from japan/Hong Kong and i don't really want to be stuck with a PS3 that only has a Japanese/Hong Kong Online store. Also i hear that only Japanese/HK residence can go online with the japanese ps3 as it only accepts japanese/HK credit cards, is this true? Finally, if the japanese/HK store is only in japanese/HK language would it be possible to flash the ps3 with the USA 1.10 firmware? Would this make the PS3 store english ?
Any help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately everything I've read all over the web has suggested all of the downfalls you mentioned such as Japanese language. I too am waiting to see if anyone dares to flash a JPN PS3 with the US firmware when it goes live in a few days.
