Getting a 360, extra cooling required?

Should be getting a new 360 delivered to me this Friday for some GOW funning YAY!

I wont be using it whilst its in on a shelf or in some rack/cupboard, it'll be sitting on the floor. Would anyone here recommend I grab one of those cooling units that seem to be everywhere now?

Nah. Just make sure there is plenty of room around the console and the PSU and you'll be fine. It's also worth noting that the 360 was designed to be used in the upright position so the cooling air flow is better that way.

I have a Nyko one, seems general opinion is it doesn't do any harm (plus play.com do a neat Chav one for a tenner now with green fan LED's and everything !).

Read about possibilty of them putting too much strain on the internal fans but don't think that's off the mark and has never been proved ?
