    Extended warranties - worth it?

I've been considering getting a 360 for a while now, but I've been holding off for a price drop. With the PS3 launch tomorrow (in North America), stores here are doing some kick-ass 1 day special deals, like a Premium 360 with Ghost Recon, Gears of War and Arcade Unplugged for approx 250 pounds.

I have read quite a bit about potential issues with the machine. Is the standard 1 year manufacturers warranty enough, or should I buy the retailers extended warranty of doom (which I have never done before)?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

1 year manufacturers warranty is usually enough, if it's going to break, it'll do it. How many of your other consoles have broken between a year and five years? Apart from Sony stuff. Do not buy an extended warranty ever. They're not really worth a whole lot to you and it's the way they make their commission which is why they often actually fetch the manager if you keep saying no.
