Buying US Wii of ebay

I have been looking at some of the ebay listings over in the US and they are going for average of $600, do you think this is good way of getting hold of one or wait until someone in UK actually has one and is selling through UK, will i get better deal this way?

depends how desperate you are. importmadness.com might not full an order now whereas a direct Wii from someone in USA might get you one quicker. Trouble is locating a copy of Zelda too

If you're willing to pay $600 anyway, just get a PAL machine in a few weeks and then get a US one later on.

$600 is a lot more then im looking to pay, im hoping to secure one for a lot less, im not really interested in a UK machine as i have always brought US imports and all my cube games are from the states, im hoping that once they go on general sale there will be enough to go around that they wont fetch silly PS3 style prices, when do you think the first machines will arrive into UK?
