PSP Network Code?

I recently got Syphon Filter for my PSP. I wanted to give it a blast online, but it asks for a network code that apparently I can find in my PSP packaging.

I will check this when I get it from the loft later, but I fear I'll be dissappointed as my PSP was a Japanese one bought from it's initial release day.

Anyone know if I'll have a code or not, or be able to get around it somehow?

I never got one either but I just emailed local customer services (through the yourpsp site if I remember correctly) and they sent me a code. My PSP is Japanese too so that won't matter.
