    Saving Videos from You Tube?

    Anyone know how to do this think I read somewhere you can do it using the FireFox browser? but cant seem to work it out?

    There's a few ways (in general), google will tell you there is a dedicated Firefox "plug in" though somewhere yes.

      David thanks for the reply can anyone be a bit more specific? also David apologies for the double post just a an idea but if you move a post from one group to another cant you PM the original poster? as i didnt think my first post went through just noticed you moved it

        If you go to "tools" -> "add-ons" in firefox,
        you'll get to the extension menu, in the right lower corner you'll find "get extensions"
        click on it you'll get to the extensions page.
        Click on "download tools" and you'll find some suitable add-ons
        to download embedded media, such as ook, unplug and videodownloader.

            Have you tried www.youtubex.com ? You just enter the url of the youtube vid and it will download for you.

                This site is brilliant for what you need. It works with pretty much any site using Flash to play videos.

                    No, it`s free. Try it, it just saves the file onto your desktop.

                        You`ll either have to get a player for the flash flv files or convert to a format you use. There`s links to free software on the main page of the tubex site under "After I download YouTube Videos how do I watch them? "
