Production date on a 360

My 360 (bought in Feb) has started to freeze quite a lot during games so I am considering returning it to Currys.
It is fairly noisy but untill now has never had any problems. I have heard that the newer ones are quieter but how do I check the production date of my or a new console and is there one that I should be looking for, ie, built after a certain date?

The date of manufacture is on a sticker on the back of your 360 along with serial no. etc. Not sure how you can guarantee getting a quiter unit though.

Are the quieter units out already? I thought it was sometime next year when we'd start getting them.

Thanks, I will take a look at the back of the 360.
It's been fine since I started playing again tonight so will probably give it a while before I decide what to do regarding the exchange.
The new ones aren't out yet but the nrwer built ones are meant to run a bit quieter.
