Xbox Live Voice Echo ?

Whenever I plug my headset in and try voice chat I get very bad voice echo, it just loop whatever the first sentence is that someone says to me.

This appears to happen both ingame and with private voice chat.

Any ideas ? As at present I'm having to do without voice comms and leave the headset unplugged ?

Can i just plug a cellphone headset in and try that ?

Actually just had a thought, would a baby monitor cause the echo ?

This problem is common with new headsets, is it new? If so, rub the end clean with your fingers, it seems to fix it for me.

I'll try giving it a good rub tonight and then see if it performs any better.

If you're getting an echo, it means that someone else in the game needs to clean the contacts on their headset, it's not a problem with yours.
