A bit hit and miss with games, from my experience with 360 stuff. I've received games on release day, on the Saturday, and also on the Monday. Can be annoying at times, but I only tend to order stuff from them that isn't region-free - and only if I have some sort of voucher. Cheaper games makes the wait less painful!
PS - If you haven't already done so, check your order history for despatch details, as I've had despatch emails arrive after the game itself!
PPS - My Viva Pinata hasn't shipped yet, so it doesn't look like I'll get that on Friday.

It's not due for release till Friday. Games I've ordered from HMV have usually turned up within a week of the release date.Comment

My recent experience with HMV preorders and free delivery option (they ship from Guernsey):- Call of Duty 3: Released Friday 10 November, sent Wednesday 8 November by regular mail and arrived Monday 13 November.
- Gears of War Limited Collector's Edition: Released Friday 17 November, sent Thursday 16 November by Royal Mail Special Delivery and arrived release day morning. This item's order status didn't update until the Thursday afternoon.
Due to the value of the HD DVD add-on, I reckon it will also be sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery on Thursday to arrive for Friday. As long as your preorder was placed in time and/or they have enough stock to fulfil their orders.Comment
