    Jiffy Bag or Box Question

Im really anal about collector edition versions of games and it pisses me right off when one turns up dented and scratched.

So could someone tell me what method of packaging these online retailers use for orders of just 1 game. Amazon are great for buying collector editions from because they use cardboard boxes even on orders for just 1 game, but what about others?

    game.co.uk ?
    play.co.uk ? jiffy bags correct
    gameplay.co.uk ?
    hmv.co.uk ?
    sendit.co.uk ?

    Thankyou

Incorrect, they only send jiffy bags now.

I had a similar thread last week to this.

      AFAIK,

game.co.uk ? Not 100%, but jiffy bags only I think.

      hmv.co.uk ? jiffy bags
sendit.co.uk ? jiffy bags on most, box for 'fragile' items (e.g. GoW LE)

        Thanks for the replies guys,

Not really all good news as i don't think jiffy bags can take much of a beating, i'll just have to stick with amazon for my limited editions.

Actually Play now send most things in wrap around boxes. I have had a few in bags though. Fairly random.

          HMV ALWAYS send in boxes.

I received two DVD's from play.com this morning - one in a box one in a jiffy bag - both were standard sized cases etc, prehaps it depends on who's doing the packing ?

Play.com do boxes, all my recent ones have been the DVD style flat-pack boxes with the exception of Gears of War which came next day jiffy. I'm not really sure it matters with DVD-style cases. I mean, come on. Come on!

I think the OP is asking for his LE's. My GoW from GP came dented in various places, and because I was so desperate to play it, I've had to take a loss on the whole thing.

Didn't know play.com had started doing boxes too. Haven't used them in a while, but people were always complaining about smashed GBA games. Still, it seems that besides Amazon, and maybe Sendit, it's the luck of the draw as to who will send your item in a box.

simplygames.com always used to give you the option of a box or jiffy and they've just started up again.

While the jiffy/box option is no longer available, Gameplay are still using boxes for GBA stuff. Asked them a couple of weeks ago & they confirmed it.

                    Jiffys for everything else.

I spoke to them last week about it and they said that we no longer use boxes for anything (that's on their live online support), so who knows. Either way, new LE's are still sent in jiffy bags, which is a crime in itself.
