    PS3 20GB Vs. 60GB Questions

Okay I've just bought a 20GB PS3 off ebay. I figured the first thing I'd be doing it sticking a 320GB HDD in the thing anyway, so there was not much point paying the extra for the 60GB.

The two main differences, aside from the smaller HDD as standard, is that there are no built-in memory stick ports, and no WiFi. Sony have not announced a WiFi adaptor, but they have announced a memory stick addon.

However, I'm assuming the 20GB machine still has USB ports - can you still use USB memory sticks?

I'd just like to point out, at the moment the largest drive you can get for it is 160GB. They're 2.5" drives, not 3.5".

Well, 160GB then =P Suppose there's not much to do with a PS3 HDD yet, just glad it's upgradable.

I've got a 20gb'er off ebay as well, and every few minutes change my mind on whether I'll upgrade to a 60gb'er at some point, just for the wifi for the PSP connection.

But I think the 20gb option is ok for now, as Sony won't really be doing anything that interesting for quite a few firmwares if the PSP is anything to go by, so for now, the 20gb will at least get me playing games

I just couldn't justfy the extra $200 going rate for just WiFi when it's half a foot from my router. Someone will say I could have waited until prices went back to RRP, but meh.

Does anyone know if the 20GB will still accept USB Memory Sticks though?

            Yes it will

I'e upgraded my HDD but kept the 20GB drive that came out of it and ordered an enclosure for it, so I can move files between my PC and PS3

That's great, no real loss having no memory stick ports then

I dont mind the lack of a card reader, or the lack of chrome, or drive space. The only thing that annoys me is the WiFi, how does psp communication work on the 20GB? with a USB cable only? bah
