Originally posted by elkatasStandard SD cards work. But by my understanding Wii doesn't support over 2 GB big SD cards. Furthermore, all launch games can access saves only from internal memory. Latest firmware patch added possibility of transferring save files to external SD card for backupping purposes (you can even send them to your friends if you want).
Oh and I'm trying to copy Wii Sports and Red Steel Saves if that makes any difference.

That's pretty crap I'm not really able to connect to the Internet. Was just looking on the nintendo website and it says:
"If you wish to use an SD Card as a storage device, but are unable to connect your Wii console online or have no plans to do so, please call for available options."
Tried ringing and can't get through, anyone any idea what these available options are?

Finally got through to someone at nintendo who told me the maximum card I could use was 2mband that if I couldn't connect to the Internet I wouldn't be able to use an sd card for saves etc. So not at all helpful.
I was looking at all the manuals that come with the wii and one hints at future game releases having firmware upgrades on them. Do you think this will be the case?
