PS3 Store - Location Select ?

Hi,

I live in the UK and have a PS3, though i havent got my hands on it yet (XMAS).

I would like to know what the deal is with the store. Its a Jap 60GB and id like to know what the options are concerning which store i can access.

Can you choose between US and JAP stores ?
If i used a US address, would i get access to that store ?
How would i switch to a UK store in the future ?

I heard the deal about needing a US/JAP credit card, but I'm not neccessarily interested in buying things until the UK store goes online, but just want to download the free demos etc.

i got a jap ps3 today.

i've just inputted a fake usa address (no credit card details needed) and downloaded motorstorm and resistance for the usa store.

Azazel, to be really honest with you, I would open that PS3 and make sure there are no defects with it, the longer you leave it, the more chance your risking of not being able to return it from where ever you got it. If you can't open it, let someone else do it or something ^_^. Oh and with PS Store you can just put in fake details like a hotel in Japan or USA (Depending on the location you chose of course!) and ignore credit card details and it will work fine.

how about changing between stores? I intend to use the japanese store, but would like to switch over to the US one from time to time (like to grab the motorstorm demo). Anyone know if thats possible?

Is there a guide/translation online anywhere for setting up a Japanese account?

I already have a US one but navigating the pages in Japanese is proving tricky!

i've just setup the japanese one.

all trial and error, you'll soon sort it (took me about 15 mins)

they have the least demos out of usa, hong kong and japan though. shame as there was nothing i wanted to download.

It's after registering a username where I get stuck. I presume it's the address and stuff but can't remember - anywhere good to get JPN addresses btw?

yeah i got 4 accounts atm lol username-USA, username-JPN, username-HK and username-TW.

HK and TW have ridge racer 7 demo

is there any way to buy stuff from the usa/jpn marketplaces yet if you are in the uk

i can remember seeing someone saying they just jammed in there cc details on there US account and it worked fine but i havent had the need to test it myself
