    TV Problem

Well, this isn't a problem as such because it happens on a lot of less expensive TV sets I know. This one is a flat-screen Panasonic Quintrix model. The problem is that on the SCART input, the background noise of the TV tuner is carried through. It's quiet, but for quiet DVDs that need the volume turned up it's a huge pain in the ass. If I disconnect the RF cable, I get static noise instead...

It's a common problem on most tvs, esp ones using composite or s-video, on some TVs it's fixed if you put 5v through pin 8 of the SCART lead to turn off the TV tuner completely. If that don't work connect Pin 16 to Ground to give 0V and that m ay fix it.

If you can't do this then get a SFC or Megadrive and connect it via RF and turn it on without a cartridge. Tune it inm until you get a black screen, then switch to AV, the black screen and no sound and will kill most of the rubbish.

Excellent plan - I've used an old VCR for this instead. Thanks!
