    Component> DVI adaptors?

I'm the (unfortunate) owner of a HDTV which does not have Component inputs. I'm currently running my wii through composite and..yeah..its a wonderfully blurry mess. The games are just as fun as they would be otherwise, but i'd rather i didnt have to put up with a fuzzy upscale.

i hit ebay for some component convertors, and have came across these two-

    ( Component > DVI)

    (Component> RGB SCART)

My DVI port has the red/white audio input next to the actual port, my SCART..doesnt, unless you count the composite inputs next to it, but i get the impression that they are not on the same channel.

So im thinking of getting a DVI one..when my student loan kicks back in *cough*. Is anyone else running a similar setup? Has anyone else had experience with these convertors? Can anyone reccomend an alternative if there is one? I dont want to shell out for one of these and some components only to find that theyre both utterly useless

Can't really help you, save to say that SCART connections should carry the audio as well as the video, hence the lack of "the red and white connections" next to it.

is the DVi one not one that outputs to component from a dvi signal not the other way around?

comes across that way to me from reading the description

If you have a VGA input, I'd recommend one of these. Although I've not tried it with me Wii. The Component-less LCD got relagated to the bedroom!

Despite what the auction suggests, that SCART one isn't converting to RGB. It'll just be feeding the component signal through the RGB pins. It won't actually display correctly if you hook it up to your TV. These things are of limited use, generally. They let you use SCART switchers to route component video, and that kind of thing, but you can't use them to plug component into an RGB SCART socket.

Yep, thought that as well - it's for a PC graphics card.

I don't think you can cheaply switch from component to DVI, that's the case with VGA to DVI. You can go from VGA to DVI as many DVI ports have both analogue and VGA so the converter is just extracting the analogue part.
