VC DKC & Hori pad = wtf?

Downloaded Donkey Kong Country last night, don't have a classic controller yet, but figured my Hori GC pad would be more than adequate. Er .... 'B' to jump and 'Y' to roll? wtf? The game is crippled as it's practically impossible to run and jump at the same time. Anybody else played this with a GC pad?

    Most disappointed.

Yeah, it is pretty lame that when playing VC games with Gamecube controller, emulator puts buttons on same buttons that actions were in SNES pad. Whole situation basically screams "Buy the ****ing classic controller already!"

Yeah. I wouldn't honestly play ever SNES games with Gamecube controller. Cube's button layout really doesn't work for old skool gaming, and analog triggers are just plain annoying. N64 games work better.

I gave it a try for curiositys sake & i agree its nasty using the gc pad for snes stuff.

Makes me love my classic controller even more.

I'm not glad I did (buy 2 of them) at all. Metal Slug Anthology was the main reason I barged a small boy out of the queue in GAME on Saturday to buy the only ones they had, and all for nothing
              Kept you waiting, huh?

A slight aside, but do you chaps know if a UK classic pad works on an import console? Any daft region restrictions I should know about?

US Wiimote works with a PAL Wii, so I guess you'll be fine

Definately does, I use a UK one on my US machine.

I'm using a Hori pad which was designed to be a SNES-a-like. Oh well, classic controller it is then.

I know what Hori Pad was, but I didn't find it that great either. Sure, it was improvement over Cube pad for sure, but you were still forced to move your thumbs little too much. IMO, of course.
