My PS3 smells when running?!?

Sorry about the second thread in a day. But I got my PS3 this morning and whenever it's turned on it smells a bit out of the fan ports, the air is pretty warm but it has a very slight burning electronics smell coming out of it, similar to that of my computers power supply unit (before it died!).

I hope it's just the new hardware wearing itself in, but worry it may set on fire or burn out :P I'm using the recommended 5amp power supply cable

i did not know the ps3 has a built in nose


could be just the smell of components heating up the new ps3 smell as long as you dont see smoke i would not worry

yeah its just the smell of new hardware mate. Smells like ridge racer to me .

Going to try it again today (HDMI cable should arrive), as always i'll keep you informed of any new smells which omit themselves from the system.

you think I'm mad don't you it honestly does have that burning electronics smell to it whenever it's switched on, I bet some little chinese worker dropped a packet of crisps inside it or something, or maybe they are still inside and didn't escape before they put the casing on.
