Disk loading problems with my PS2

I have an almost new PS2 model number SCPH-39000AQ which has now decided it is not going to load disks all the time.

What happens is I load a disk and the drive makes noises which would indicate that the disk is slipping and then when I attempt to eject the disk the tray does not open correctly.

The machine is chipped but I have never used burnt media in it only original disks.

When it does load I then have no further problems at all, no strange noises or long waits for data to load.

If anybody here has any ideas as to what could be causing this or could point me in the direction of somebody in the London area how could take a look (I'd be prepared to pay obviously) that would be greatly apreciated.
