Why bother making such an effort to show off the DVD-R and SD card only to fade the picture at the critical moment? Not convinced - yet.

No, it isn't true. That film is maybe month old and debunked many times. Maxconsole is really really funny site. They report everything late and believe even cheapest fakes*.

        * Probably best one was when some drew magazine article using MS Paint and sent it to Maxconsole. Few hours later Maxconsole was reporting that "Oblivion is coming to Wii!" .

A month old would mean they set the date in the Wii dashboard to 13th December ahead of time....which would have been quite foolish, no?

I bet it's fake. The most obvious reason is that they don't actually show you that the Wii that he's playing with is the one producing the picture on the TV. That's such a common trick when these inevitable hack videos come out for new consoles that when they don't debunk it by showing the video cables going in my spider sense immediately starts tingling.

I can't explain that, but this video was going around Penny-Arcade forums few weeks ago. Or maybe my memory is just goddamn hazy, and this is different video. Anyways, no showing console = fake.

To be fair though, every single time a console is cracked we always cry fake only for it to be true. I reckon it wont be long, especially if its near identical hardware as the gamecube.
