    GC Zelda TP Amazon pre-order

Has anybody who pre-ordered PAL Zelda TP for the GC at Amazon UK actually received it yet?

I had a pre-order in for weeks and estimated delivery between 19th - 21st after an estimated dispatch on date on 16th. No dispatch confirmation yet. This delay with Amazon is most unusual.

It's beginning to worry me that they've accepted more pre-orders than their actual allocation. I know people who suspect that's happened at Play.com too. What's more odd is that copies are, apparently, freely available online from GAME and Gameplay...

Assuming this isn't another account of yours, it looks like a few people have had trouble.

I pre-ordered mine from YesAsia and at the last check it was almost dispatched. You're not alone, my friend.

Yeah, happened to me at Play.com. Your best bet is to get to your nearest GAME or Gamestation, and grab a copy, seems to be a fair amount around, at least on the Friday it was released. I was suprised to go straight in and come out with a copy.

Demand online seems to be huge, but noone ever buys Gamecube games in actual shops, and it just so happens they're stocking Zelda, oddly.

Still no Amazon dispatch confirmation yet - I've found several other forums with people complaining about Amazon and Play GC Zelda pre-orders.

It's bizarre that it's freely available in the some high street games stores and from various sites yet two of the biggest online games sellers apparently can't honour any of their pre-orders even a week after the release date.

My two copies arrived from Amazon yesterday. I ordered them last month so any later than that and maybe you'll be waiting for restocks.

There are plenty on Ebay, and Game and Gameplay.

Well I you are going to order from somewhere else the cheapest I have seen it in stock is ?29.99 from play3k, here:-

Or you can order it from GAME here for ?34.99:-

but if you use promotional code J3PW74 you get ?5.00 of any order over ?30.00 so also making Zelda from GAME ?29.99.

It just depends who you would rather place your order with

If there are any affiliate links from ntsc-uk for these two companies please use them to place the order!

            Hope this helps someone

Thanks for the responses/suggestions. I pre-ordered last month too but it's still interesting to hear somebody has actually received their copies from Amazon UK. Last post date before Christmas has passed so unless I can find it in shops locally it makes no sense to cancel. But now the chance of me getting it before the new year is slim. I'm unhappy and Amazon UK have been made aware of that for all the good it will do :-)

I preordered with Amazon *and* play.com, and both eventually told me they couldn't deliver in time for Christmas. The same day play let me down, I ordered a copy from GAME online, used the ?5 off voucher, and it arrived the next day.

I generally think GAME are a bit ****, but this time they've done themselves proud: loads of stock and quick delivery. Amazon, on the other hand, have messed up three orders of mine in the past two months, and their customer service is rubbish: form replies followed by shrugged shoulders.

[edit] Just to add that a complaint to Amazon (in which you could demonstrate their poor service) used to result in a voucher or some other form of compensation. Now all you get is a patronising "we'll pass on your complaint to the appropriate department".

I very rarely pre-order but when you do you expect to get it at least within the first week of release. What's the point of pre-ordering otherwise? Amazon just needed to explain why there was a delay and I would have been disappointed but fairly confident that it would be coming eventually. I still don't even know that.

They have at least contacted me now - blah blah blah experiencing supply problems etc etc. Dispatch estimate now 22nd and estimated delivery after the 26th, well there's a surprise.

What's galling is that I've just come back from my two local GAME shops and they're awash with full price (?39.99) GC copies. They're even doing a +?16.99 deal on used GC consoles if you buy Zelda TP.

?16.99 for a GC? It's ?19.99 at both GAME stores I visted yesterday in Edinburgh

P.S ?3 is nothing I suppose considering the console launched at ?129.99

@fallenangle: That's just crap. Like I say, I've been disappointed with Amazon recently, and yout experience is just confirming it. They've never been the best at customer services, but at the moment they're taking the piss.

I suspect I'm not the only one to complain and it's obviously got through to someone. I've had a second e-mail about the delay which looks to be for more general consumption suggesting others unhappy bunnies in the same boat.

Re: Used Gamecube/Zelda package deal ^. It was definitely +?16.99 at both GAME outlets (NW London) that's why it took my attention. If I hadn't already bought a new GC from ?49.99 from Argos recently (specifically for Z:TP) I would have a used one at that price, or even at ?19.99, straight away. Used GC's are usually ?35+ at GAME.
