Running Wii through a monitor (VGA)

hey all, im lacking a HDTV and for now id like to run my wii though me 19" wide lcd monitor which only has vga.

I if used the wii component cable and used male/female converter could use it with this cable and run it through the monitor? as there doesnt seem to be any news yet of a wii vga cable and id rather not run it through the poxy crt I have.

My mate uses a similar cable with his Xbox and DVD player to use the component outputs via the VGA input on his TV. Works a treat.

No that will not work, as it will be sending a YPbPr (Component) signal to a VGA monitor which will be expecting RGBHV (VGA).

While it may work on the VGA port on some HDTV's (as above poster mentioned), this is very unlikely to work on a VGA monitor designed for PC's.

You need a converter such as Vdigi Z3 which does work and is about the same price as the cable you mentioned. The PQ is excellent as well.

You do realise, it's not HD don't you? Sorry if you do, but it's just the way you mentioned HDTV and VGA and poxy crt made me think perhaps....
If you don't have a component enabled screen for 480p, then your poxy crt will give the best picture, as long as it has RGB.
