I've always wondered what was the point of that analog button... since the sticks and d-pad can be active at the same time, is there any need to have an on/off state? Why not just leave them active always?

To be honest i don't remember seeing any driver discs' coming with my adapter. I'm pretty sure it arrived in a tiny box which was to small for a cd etc.

I wanna get this working cus some PS2 games just don't work with 6axis L/R2 well at all

Wait.. if it accepts a dual shock through USB converter, will it also accept an X360 controller through USB?

OK, now the really important question, does it support the best games ever, GH & GH2?

I just spent 10 minutes trying to figure out what GH is... I kepting thinking Kingdom Hearts and Ghost Recon which are obviously wrong. Then Ghost Hearts. Greatest Hits?

Okay, I give up. What's GH?

No offense. I think I may have been living under a rock to not know what the best games ever made are!

My Joypad USB adapter arrived today and suprisingly my Dreamcast controller is recognised and works on the PS3, although its obviously lacking some buttons. Haven't been able to try a Saturn controller/stick yet, but this could be great news for those of us who are getting VF5, as it looks like we'll be able to use the Saturn arcade stick (or Dreamcast) rather than forking out for the new one.

                        good stuff!

I was going to post a little update on here the other day, but forgot >_< Basically, i dont think its possible to play ps2 games on the ps3, 2 player with the second player using a ps2 pad. When the ps2 game boots up, the console asks you to press the PS button, which is of course lacking from the old ps2 pads.

Me and my WE obsessed mate spent at least half an hour trying various ways of trying to get around this, but it doesnt seem possible at the mo. So we played 5 hours of co-op resistance with him using a ps2 pad which was fine.

someone better try out the DC stick to see if all 6 buttons work (i think on my magicbox C and Z aren't recognised as it only expects L and R triggers). for vf and tekken it doesn't really matter but still.

oh btw does this usb setup work with ps2/1 games too?

I'd be interested to hear if anyone has tried Jpn Guitar Freaks, games and controller. After spending all Xmas playing GH with my boy on his PS2 I fancy some grown up action (lol)

This is the converter that arrived today,

PC Joybox 3in1 for WindowsPC Joybox 3in1 ConverterUse PS™/PS2™ Pads on your PCUse Dreamcast™ Pads on your PCUse Saturn™ Pads on your PCCompatible with Windows XP, 2000, 98 and 95Connects through the PC USB portWith the PC Magic Box you can use your favourite PlayStation, PlayStation2, Dreamcast or Saturn controller on your PC. Play PC games with your favourite video game control pad! The adapter connects through USB and is compatible with Windows XP, 2000, 98 and 95. New version. To launch DC digital mode, press START for 3 seconds.

Have only tested the DC controller on it so far, but I don't see any reason why the PS1/PS2 input wouldn't work as it should definitely recognise older Sony controllers. Haven't got a Saturn controller/arcade stick or DC arcade stick around to check them at the moment, but it seems they should work based on the DC controller working.

give them time and i bet they'll release a ps3 usb converter that probably either has a PS button on it or allows for some button combination to achieve the desired result
