Xbox 360 VGA on the Toshiba WLT58 series

Unless i'm really dense, is there a way to position the screen?
I've looked at the menus and couldn't find anything.

Because i'm pretty adamant that the screen has shifted to the left by a couple of cms or so, and i want to correct it.

    I'm viewing it on 1360x768

Try positioning it with the display options, but usually if you use the auto-assign option then it sorts it self out.

If its anything like my wlt66 then the screen doesnt support properly 13xx x 768 and you lose some screen.

I had to set it to 1024 x 768 and then use the wide function on the tv.

There is a 'PC settings' option on the TV menu screen, however it's greyed out

I'll try a lower resolution and just tinker around with the widescreen settings to see if that makes a difference.

yeah vga makes it go greyed outfor some reason.

Compnent is fine though for some reason :/

Surely there's some sort of better workaround for this? 1024 x 768 isn't even a high definition resolution. I've got myself a WLT66 for Christmas and I don't want to be stuck with a 360 that won't even display properly

              Yep.
It seems as though 1024x768 is the best resolution i can get, without losing some screen
              a bit pap that.

I know people with the WLT68 had to set to 1280x768, then force it to 16:9 on the remote.

Seems Toshiba just don't put much effort into the VGA side of things...1360x768 also leaves me with narrow borders on the newer WLT68.

Running in 1280x768 with the TV set to "wide" mode seems the only acceptable solution. I think it's a 15:9 res, but with the wide mode selected, it stretches it back into something close to a proper 16:9 shape and looks decent.

Looks like Shakey beat me to it.

I can't even do that... since when trying to switch it to 'wide' i get the 'not available' pop up on the bottom left of the screen.

Now, has anyone got any decent colour settings?
The one i'm using at the moment to get it somewhere near component's setting is:
                    back light - 100
                    contrasst - 100
                    brightness - 15

I've got a Samsung LE32R41BD which has a native resolution of 1366x768 and I use VGA set to 1360x768 and don't get any borders. The only thing you can barely notice if you look really close, and I mean really close, are two very thin vertical lines on the left and right edges of the picture due to the 360 outputting 6 pixel width lines less than the TV's native width.

What resolutions are possible in VGA through X360?

                        is 1280x720 or 1920x1080 possible?

In 1360x768 does it run at full speed, or is there some slowdown compared to 720p?

Is it only your Tosh tv that doesn't accept the 1360x768? Will that res still work for other TVs? Mine works with my PC at that resolution.

I think it's just the Toshiba being not quite as good with VGA.

I've set the screen to 1280x1024 (SXGA)
Funnily enough, i thought i went through all the screen resolutions and only the 1024x768 (XGA) was the only one i could use (without the screen being lopped off the sides) Must've missed that one. My bad.

Can anyone with the same TV set via VGA tell the difference between 1024x768 and 1280x1024? I just cant seem to tell the difference to be honest.
Unless my eyes are completely funked out.
