    PSX emulation on PSP now?

Am I imagining it or is this now possible? I've seen some sites releasing bootable PS1 classics for PSP.

Sound intruiging - PSX has a great back catalogue (most of which is in my loft).

Yes it's possible and it really works - I'm currently playing through Final Fantasy Tactics again.

Fantastic. Think I'll make some time to look at this.

Final Fantasy VII and GT2 on PSP.

You have to have no higher than 2.8 firmware then downgrade to 1.5. Then up grade to 3.02 OE-B.

Dont bother unless you have a non TA-082 motherboard as trying any downgrading will brick your console.

It's a case of homebrew outpacing legitimate software again. They've only released a handful of PS1 games to download and you need a PS3 to do it. On the other hand with Popstation you can play any PS1 game (it just turns an ISO file into an EBOOT that the PS1 emulator on the PSP can play) and all you need is a PC and a PSP with the 3.02 OE firmware.

So yeah, Vib Ribbon should work. Although you should bear in mind that PAL games apparently have graphical issues at the moment.

Yes, and you need homebrew software to get the games working

yes, surely it proves that Sony could have offered us this too. A real shame they tried to insist on getting a PS3 to get games.

There is that, but chances are they weren't too keen on legitimising the process of ripping your PS1 discs. It doesn't explain why there are so few PS1 games to legitimately download, though. I appreciate there must be licencing issues with some games but surely it can't take much to whack the first-party games up there.

                      How fast is the emulation?

And how do you get R2/L2/L3/R3, right analog functionality?

I think that is the major reason for the limited official support from Sony. A game like Ape Escape couldn't be done through emulation. The buttons would need to be reworked manually by the devs.
