I am on the BT home hub and share my connection. could possibly set your transfer rate over the wireless slightly slower as it provides a more stable connection often.

are the 2nd update fatal errors happening in Pal Wii's or was it sorted in time for the UK launch?

I heard they were trying to sort it out before they released the consoles in UK..

Its going to be busy as everyone who got a wii for xmas will be trying to go online.

Just hang in there (^_^) the servers will probably be swamped.

looks like an internet connectivity issue to me

updating shouldnt take ages, merely minutes

can't you look that code up on the nintendo site?

its either a problem with your wifi router (which I doubt because everything else is working fine), or an internet connectivity problem, DNS, the DHCP IP's being assigned, etc.

I'm pretty much in the same boat (along with many others so my google search has lead me to believe)...I have a netgear DG834 router....my main PC, Laptop, Xbox 360, DS and PSP all have been working with it flawlessly for years....but no matter how hard I bloody well try my f**king Wii just keeps randomly disconnecting while in Wii shop channel....

Everything is just SLOOOOOW, updates took 30 mins to complete and connecting to the wii shop channel normally takes upwards of 5 mins if it works at all. I managed to get ?21 on my wii....but now can't download anything as it always either fails after about 5 secs or doesnt get going at all. Useless. Great console but utter ****ty networking as far as I'm concerned. Have tried switching my router through channels 1-13 with no difference in speed/reliability, have tried re-positioning the Wii in relation to router etc...what a load of crap.

If any of my other hardware ever experience similar issues I would not be so hard on the Wii....but they dont. ft:

I'm having probs with the Wii store too, sometimes it just hangs on "loading" and eventually I have to do a hard reset...very annoying.
