Placing a TV in front of a window

Not a console question as such but i hope its okay to put the question here.

Im moving my room around and due to reasons (people in other rooms having their beds on the walls that join my room and them having super sonic hearing at night) means i only have two possible walls to put my TV on. One has a window on it. The window is hardly ever open as it is, unless its summer. Is there any danger with placing a large LCD TV in front of a window? Im not thinking from rain as such as the window is largely closed for most of the year but from condensation or anything else. What about if i bring it a few feet away from the wall. Will that make it safer?

Basically are the any reasons as to why i shouldnt put a TV infront of a window.

Well, other than would be burglars can see it's worth breaking into your house, you'll run the risk of discolouring the TV ( the casing not the picture ) if it's exposed to strong sunlight for lengthy periods of time.

Well its an upstairs bedroom at the back of the house, so its unlikely you'd see the TV apart from maybe a foot of the top of it due to the height of the stand, TV and window.

I never thought about it discolouring but as its black and it'd only be the back of the TV i cant see it being too much of a problem.

      Cheers for your reply.
