    USB Keyboard Problem

I bought home my work computer for Xmas to do some video work, must more powerful than the laptop I usually use. I didn't bother bringing home the keyboard as I already have one at home.

Booting up, the keyboard works in the BIOS but not in Windows, and I can't enter my password to get in to Windows and Control Panel.

I've bought another, standard USB keyboard and it's the same thing.

I've tried all USB ports and there's nothing in the BIOS that's set wrong.

It's a Dell computer with no P/S2 connections.

    Any ideas anyone?

    Thanks!

Try enabling legacy USB support in the BIOS.

Tried without too? Hehe... I don't know really. If the BIOS is setup correctly then it may not be working simply because the new hardware wizard doesn't activate until you're passed the login screen and onto the desktop. Really not sure though, not willing to uninstall my keyboard to test the theory incase I run into the same issue

Tried every combination possible mate. It's ridiculous. It's a bog standard USB keyboard, nothing fancy, so why it would need specific drivers I don't know. TBH I don't imagine it does, but I guess it is possible. That would make sense as you why it's not working in Windows, but if so that's an incredibly silly problem.

I give up, have to wait until next week when I'm back at work.

Thanks for the advice though man, I appreciate you taking the time to try and help me out.
