Agree with last post about Katamari. If there was a decent analogue control it would be mega, but as it is, it is easily the worst of the Katamaris available.

Power Stone collection is very good, although it has long old loading times and is not worth getting if you already have the DC versions tbh

Segoku Cannon and Star Soldier are two nice shooters

Get your firmware downgraded and get stuck into the emulators and homebrew stuff! Playing Beats of Rage on the toilet ftw

Haha, I tried to sell the PSP to my brother that way. Told him Pro Evo 6 = amazing but Pro Evo 6 on the bog = so much better!
It's fine playing on the toilet unless you get really involved and lose track of time and end up with dead legs

Tekken DR is a must, it really, really is.

Also Exit deserves a mention, not very popular but decent game particularly if you pick it up 2nd hand from somewhere.

                Wipeout Pure

                Street Fighter Zero 3
                Gradius Portable
                Daxter

Loads of great PSP games. Don't believe the urban myth of it having nothing worth buying.

Also, if you like your shmups, Konami are releasing compilations of Salamander, Parodius and Twinbee in January. I can't wait for those myself!
I'd like to say thats a decent list but I would add:

                Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror

Loved it loads - fantastic game...

Everybodys Golf. Best portable golf game I've played, and one of the best golf games full stop for that matter.

I'm going to disagree about Katamari. It can be picked up for £10 from Gamestation (2 for £20 used) and at that sort of price it's worth it. I bought my copy for £14 and definitely got my moneys worth even though I 'finished' it in well under a week. The controls were annoying at first but I soon got used to them and it's fairly easy to control once you adjust. Obviously compared to the PS2 versions it falls shoer, but on it's own merit it's a solid game and to anyone who hasn't played one before (or fans of the PS2 games) I reckon it's a worthwhile purchase.

On the shoot-em-up side of things, I would recommend Star Soldier if you can get ahold of it.

DJ Max is an excellent Beatmania style game.

But having just completed it I'd have to say:

                        MGS:Portable Ops
                        MGS:Portable Ops
                        MGS:Portable Ops
                        MGS:Portable Ops
                        MGS:Portable Ops
                        MGS:Portable Ops
                        MGS:Portable Ops

One of the best games on the PSP and one of the best games I've played all year.

Also, if you've played Monster Hunter and enjoyed it, bag yourself a Wifi max and Monster Hunter Freedom then install Xlink Kai on your PC.

gitaroo man was very good on the PS2... the PSP one seems a bit easier to me... and they translated "Flying To Your Heart" a great Japanese Jpop song into a mediocre english pop song....

but its still a good game.
