How to win at Capcom Classics slot machine?

Just got this compilation for PSP (reloaded version), is there any strategy to the slots or is it just dumb luck?

Pressing triangle,triangle,triangle is getting pretty tedious!

I have about 700,000 credits but have not achieved a 777, BARBARBAR or CCCCCCCCC combos in aprrox 200 attempts

i dont think there is - just bet more so you have 5 chances to win every spin

it can get boring - but nice nice stuff to open up
