Should i buy Final Fantasy XI?

Ok now after getting a PAL 360 yet again, i have instantly become bored of gears and although viva pinatas a great game theres only so much i can take from it and i now doubt i will ever go back to it. Now the only other game i was partially interested in was lost planet but after more extensive playing on that game im not too fussed to get it. This effectively means that i will have a 360 with njo games to play until soemthing half decent get released around march time.

This is what has brought me back to Final Fantasy 11, I played the beta to death and managed to get to a lvl 49 RDM and quite far as a BLM, WAR, PLD and even WHM. However i wont have the same sort of time on my hands this time round, although i will be able to play the game at weekends i will only have around 2 hours to play on it during the weekdays so is it really worth me paying ?9 a month and will i be able to play it for only 2 hours on a night, does anyone here do this? Or will i end up having to mostly solo as parties are impossible to find as i dont have a clue what the servers are like now.

The only other option is to stick to playing Halo2 and buying Enchant Arms to fill in the time.

If anyone else could recommend anything else also that would be great

I play it religiously on the PC but could never get to grips with playing it on the 360... dunno know why. if you like the game, go for it. if you got bored of it before, same is bound to happen again, so no point

And stay away from Enchanted Arm, I made that mistake to waste 40 on it. wasnt worth it.

Lol, its not that i got bored the first time i loved the game, its just the beta finished and at that point in time i didnt really want to pay £9 a month.

Enchanted Arms is that bad lol, well i wont buy that then! Which leaves me with fewer options, oh and how come you cant get to grips with ffxi on the 360 you can plug in a keyboard anyway or is it the lack of a mouse that is a big factor?

i think the mouse part did have an issue as thats how i selected evrything....

it just i dont believe (except for PSO) that MMO's should be on games consoles. they work easier on PC.

I disagree with the hatred regarding Enchanted arms - if you're a fan of final fantasy games, you'll see some fairly strong similarities between it and FFVIII +X (during the first 7 or so odd hours at least, haven't got too far into it myself)

As for FFXI, if you can devote 2 hours per weekday + weekends to it, that should be enough to get some decent progress made. Also, if you want to save a bit of cash for yourself, what you can do is to register yourself as a US citizen (make up some fake US details, credit card and name etc needs to be left as they are) that way you get charged per month in dollars, which on average saves you about £1/£2 a month.

Hey, dont get me wrong, its just a lot of Enchanted arms promised, it wasnt delivered. I did start to think the battle system was OK but after about 2 hours I gave up. I probably should haev given it more of a chance but it was just painful to play.

I wasnt saying I hated it, just it didnt deliver anything spectactular....

cool thanks for the feedback and yeah at most it would be two hours a night plus weekends, now i just need to find out if solo/switch/maestro debit cards are accepted, forgot about that :P before i make my decision as to date really thats the only game on the 360 bar playing halo2 thats kept me interested 3 months without fail.

Maybe if Enchant arms gets sold for a more reasonable price i will buy it.

Only Visa and Mastercard unfortunately. I have to use my brother's card to pay for it as I don't have either of those payment methods. Bit crap really having to do that.

Don't know about 360, but they never did for PC I know that much... so it probably applies to both. Daft really, considering they could (in my opinion) get a lot more customers if they took debit cards aswell. I don't want a credit card thanks very much.
