Multi Region DVD on 360

Does a PAL 360 play region 1 dvds?

Will it play them through the HD-DVD? Are there any hacks to play R1 DVDs?

AFAIK, there's no way to play R1 DVD's on the 360 (hardware or software). Even the HD DVD is controlled by the region of the console, so a UK console means it'll play PAL DVDs.

In fact, I'm having an issue over Component where my Region 0 NTSC discs play in 576p (as opposed to 480p)...

If i buy the US 360 HD-DVD player i cant play US HD DVDs on it?

HD DVDs aren't region coded so you can import those no problem. It's just standard DVDs that are a problem if you want to play imports on a UK machine.
