DO NOT USE the power cable from the PAL Wii on the JPN Wii. The PAL Wii power cable takes in 240v and the JPN Wii takes in 120v. If you plug the PAL Wii power cable into the JPN Wii (which is a 120v system), you will permanently destroy your JPN system.
Use the JPN Wii power cable on your JPN system, and get a step down conveter so the electrical supply from your wall socket is converted from 240v to 120v.

With the Wii, the power is dictated by the external power brick. This is different from most other consoles, where the power board is internal.
This is the same for the GameCube, and Xbox 360.
You can use a UK Power brick on a JPN Wii fine.
