Gamecube Prog Scan help - does it remember?

If you enable prog scan for a game by holding down B during boot, does it remember it on the mem card or something? Or do you have to select it every time for that game? Or does it just enable it for all games after that?

If it remembers, how do you turn it off again?

I think it does remember somehow, just as the pal consoles remember 60hz.
I think you have to hold B again to bring up the menu and turn it off.

It will remember to pop up the menu every time asking if you wish to enable 480p.
