Dash update?

Umm, I just got a dash update today...anyone else? My console is on and connected to live at least once a day, so umm...whats this one for?

Any ideas and anyone else get one?

Happened to me as well, not sure what its done though.

it did load mine up slower than usual and the intro screen was a bit stuttery but everything seems fine now

Maybe they've accidentally given me the tv on demand thing hehe.

It's wierd, I've never missed a dash update, and today I've got one that I didn't even know was coming, or what it includes?

Can't be the gears update, that'll only happen when I try to load gears whilst connected to live, which I didn't do.

Only thing I can notice is that it seems to have made the automatic sign in to live even slower...

No mention of it from the major, he usually gives notice of any updates big or small before they happen. If it is accross live then I'm sure his blog will be on fire, and he'll give details on it shortly !

This really is most odd, and I really don't like update things without a clue what's in the update?

Perhaps its a small update that stops people with hacked firmware on the drives? Wouldn't need to tell us that, but everyone would have to download it.

I can't see it being a major one in any way shape or form since we had one of those in November!

Regarding Major Nelson, don't forget he's at CEX and what time is it there?

If I was a betting man, I'd bet this particular beta http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2006/12...r-live-outage/ might be responsible for an update that doesn't require mention to the rest of the masses.

Oh and by the way :

A Gears of War update should start pushing through the system at some point tomorrow, Tuesday January 9, 2007 prior to the two new multiplayer maps being available on Xbox Live Marketplace on Wednesday January 10, 2007.

I find it a little hard to believe that a GAME update would be done like this though. I didn't have gears in the drive at all, so why would it make me update it before I try to play it.

I'm pretty sure it IS the gears update since I just checked and in ranked matches, when joining them the host column is blank.

Sometimes the dash update can fix game issues ... RR6 had a terrible problem with custom soundtracks that a dash update fixed.

They can't issue a blanket update for a game, what about the people who don't have Gears (yes I know they should get it!).
