    Is my 360 broken?

Only bought it last week. Had a squeaky pad so took it to Gamestation and got a replacement. Great! Though I turned my console on and the pad and it just slow flashed. Console didn't respond to any pad input at all. Bollocks I thought, the pad's naff. Took it back today and got another. Same thing. Opened a brand new pad out of the blister pack and, again, I just get a slow full circular flash on the pad. 360 seems fine, boots up and goes to dashboard and signs me in alright but it just doesn't seem to recognise the pads. What's going on?

Wireless controller? Needs to be synched to your console (use the sync buttons).

There's a little white pairing button on the top of the pad between the LB and RB.
Click that and the pad will pair with the 360. There's also a pairing button on the front of the machine, again it's white a "clicky", try that too if the pad doesn't pair at first.

So you took it back 3 times instead of reading the instructions?

        Way to go champ!

Just tried synching and it works now. I tried synching on the previous pad and it *didn't* work, so I assumed my 360 might be broken rather than the generally robust pads.

Er, no, I took a controller back once (which I wasn't too bothered about since 1. I needed to go to town anyway and 2. it had been used by GS staff and was a bit mucky).

          Way to read, champ!

          Cheers for the help, chaps.
