Real or phony address in Playstation Network

I finally got my US PS3.

To access the store do I have to register with a phony US address or is an European address fine?

Is it the same story with JPN consoles? I have a JPN PS3 arriving tomorrow, so any advice would be appreciated. Also, does anyone know whether it's possible to change the menu language to English?

Ok, so a quick search elswhere has answered that question - I'll be able to sign up to the US Store using a fake US address. So, how about using English credit cards with this - is it still a problem for VISA users?

I've tried 3 different VISA cards, and none of them work !!!

Does anyone know which cards are valid ??

You probably need the c/c with the US address...

Apparently Mastercard is the way to go for US store purchase.

On all consoles, when you sign uo to the PS Store, you choose your region store.
You cannot use a UK credit card on the JPN store, but you can use one on the US and HK stores with a fake address, and the HK store has most of the content of the JPN store (aand you can choose English text too).

Many of us have purchased Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection, for example, from the HK store with our UK credit cards (Electron works too) and play them on our US machines.

I keep trying to do that technique to download Tekken 5 and it doesnt accept my card!!!

I heard from someone on this forum that you could use someone elses Tranasction number to download Tekken 5 for free. I got my mates one and paid him money but I dont get where you'd use the transaction number

I had to add HK$40 into my funds via the Account Management on the XMB first, only then would it actually let me pay the rest by card in the PS Store.

@ snakey jake33 did you add funds today? Ive tried numerous times with several cards and nothing.
