Guitar Freaks

I've read somewhere (not that I can find it now...) that the latest version of Guitar Freaks allows to remap the buttons, thus letting you use the Guitar Hero controller with it.
Can anyone confirm this, and tell me which version of Guitar Freaks this is? The names can get a bit confusing.

Found this info, blatantly nicked but says it all.

The game you want is Guitar Freaks & DrumMania: Masterpiece Silver.

For those of you who have copies of Guitar Hero lying
around your house and don't wish to import (with potentially
expensive shipping) a Konami GuitarFreaks controller,
there's finally a solution!

Now that it's possible to remap individual buttons to
whatever function you want them to be for GuitarFreaks,
you can even set up the button mapping to work correctly
with a Guitar Hero controller! Go into the Options menu
and set the following control scheme:

Button Function
--------------------------------
O Red
Triangle Green
X Blue
D-Pad Up Picking
D-Pad Down Picking
L2 Wailing

The above setup will allow you to use the middle three
buttons on the Guitar Hero controller as well as the
pick -- all just like a normal GuitarFreaks controller.
(I chose the middle three buttons because the "keyed"
button is most comfortable as the middle button rather
than an end button, at least to me.)

One thing that you should be aware of is the fact that
Guitar Hero controllers always hold down Left on the D-Pad
so the Guitar Hero game can identify the controller, but
that obviously causes problems with this game because it
will cause the songlist to constantly scroll in one
direction, forcing you to unplug the controller for song
selection and re-plug the Guitar Hero controller to play
the actual song.

The previous game is Guitar Freaks V & DrumMania V, it and all others don't support remapping.

While it may technically be possible to rewire a Guitar Hero
controller to work with GuitarFreaksV, unfortunately there is
no way to remap the guitar controls in this game so you cannot
use a Guitar Hero controller unless you feel like performing
some pretty heavy modifications on it.

Also watch out for Guitar Freaks & DrumMania: Masterpiece Gold, out on March 8th.

no worries, seems Gold and Silver are greatest hits versions voted for in a website pole. I also realised that Guitar Freaks V2 & DrumMania V2 came out at the end of November.

Sow we now have two games that can use the Guitar Hero controller,

Guitar Freaks V2 & DrumMania V2
Guitar Freaks & DrumMania: Masterpiece Silver

and when it comes out in March

Guitar Freaks & DrumMania: Masterpiece Gold

Looks like that's me skint for the month then
