    Chipped pal xbox question

    Hi all
my new tv comes a week today and I have ordered a component lead for my xbox.
Its a launch model chipped with evox and Xbmc and no access to the xbox dash (update on disc killed it)
Is there anyway for me to set it to 720p ?

Yep, download the enigmah video selector disc from #xbins. Burn it and run it. Select NTSC and turn off the box. All done. Next time you go into xbmc with the component leads plugged in, you'll see the options for HD in "appearance" options.

Also, do you receive an error when trying to go to the original dashboard?
This can be easily fixed, it's just an XBE incompatibility with the kernel.
Had this happen a couple of times, just try some other xboxdash.xbe files until you get the correct one.

PM me if you need help.

While this works it will only affect XMBC itself. If you want 480p, 720p and 1080i for games you have to use the MS dash.

Are you looking on the site, then? You need to get into their FTP server where the more interesting stuff is held. Search Google for "xbins tutorial" and the first hit should be what you need.

I ran V2, but I guess final is the same thing.

Also, anyone able to help me. I ran the softmod with dual boot, so it goes to the standard MS dash if the drawer is open on boot. However, it's not the standard dash and instead just goes to my Live account management settings. When I press B to go back up to the main dash, it doesn't. Weird.

Can you not do a partial rebuild with a Slayers disk? Should work as you can use it to set up an unformatted HD from scratch.

                          See Sect 4a10) - Install/Restore M$ dash to C:

Mike, be sure to use proper DVD-R, sometimes it reads crap and erases the file before installing the new one, that's why I said to back it up.
                              btw: You've got mail.
