    recommended sites for importing consoles

Hi, sorry if this has been answered before but I am new here - I have done a fair bit of searching and found lots of info which has been of use, but I was wondering which of these sites is recommended for importing a console into the UK:-

    NCSX
    yesasia
    Play Asia

These are the only stores I've come across so far which have what I want at a reasonable price, I've been looking at other sites like renchi but they don't have a contact address displayed and so I wouldn't touch any site like that with a barge pole.

Also, can anyone tell me which shipping company yesasia use? Only I've read that some on the companies only ship via ups part of the way, then use parcel force the rest of the way - correct me if I'm wrong.

They're all decent in their own way.

If it was me, I'd would go with NCSX simply because they've always been completely impeccible for me, will mark down on request, and super speedy delivery times.
PlayAsia may be just as fast using UPS shipping, but I'd personally use NCSX if it was me.

YesAsia actually offer a free shipping, VAT-free option, though delivery times are slower, depends how much that bothers you.

Neither PlayAsia or YesAsia will ship PS3 or PSP items to the EU.

D'oh and then I re-read the qu and realised my answer was irrelevant as I was banging on about vg+ and dvdbxoffice etc.

      Deary me the shame...ignore.

Thanks for the info, yes I was looking at the YesAsia free shipping/VAT free option - do you know who they ship with? when you say delivery times are slower, how long would the shipment take to arrive? Can you recommend any other Jap/HK sites?

It's actually a Wii that I'm looking to import, for several reasons. Firstly, I still can't get hold of a PAL wii for love nor money but more importantly I've been reading all the useful info on this site in relation to 60Hz games running faster and so on (my TV supports multi format 50Hz/60Hz and NTSC playback so quite sure I won't have problems), plus I've always been into Jap style RPG's - have always been frustrated by the lack of titles such as these in the UK, there was certainly a lack of Euro relelased RPG's on the PAL Gamecube. This will be the first console I've imported since my Sega Genesis, which I imported so I could play 'Super Magical Flying Hat Adventure' which was never made available in the UK as far as I know. Most European/Western games don't appeal to me and I sold my Xbox 360 for that reason.. FPS, driving games etc bore me senesless and that's all that seems to be available on that machine right now.

Well we did get... Decap Attack.

But like you, I like my JAP RPG's and PAL just isn't the way to go. Mind you, I can't imagine we'll be seeing to many RPG's on the Wii but what we do get probably won't come out in PAL-land.

Cannot speak for modern stuff (I am a retro sort of bloke) but all the Japan/HK dealers I have ordered from on ebay have been superb. Shipping is much faster and usually cheaper than Euroland dealers. They are helpful, courteous and efficient. Quality of secondhand Japan stuff is usually superb.
