Getting online with a PS3?

No I'm not talking about setting up a PSN account, I'm talking about getting the damn thing to actually connect in the first place. I'm on NTL BB, connect through my set top box to my PC via a USB adaptor. With the 360 I just entered the alternate MAC address as the one from my PC and away I went. The PS3 won't let me change the MAC or enter an alternate, so I'm stumped at the moment . Help please!!

You ought to be able to just let it find all of the addresses and details it needs automatically mate - go back to the connection bit, press triangle and go to "Edit settings" or whatever. Then use the "easy set-up" to just let it find everything itself.

If that doesn't work, then don't ask me 'cause I'm crap with this stuff.

Stumped, it seems weird you can't change the MAC address from the console, are you using wireless or wired?

Wireless was pretty flawless on the easy set up for me. You could try logging into the router to see if it is finding the PS3 unit?

I'm using a wired connection as I've got the 20gb version, still not getting anywhere with this. I know theres a solution, and it probably involves spending more money .

Got MotorStorm btw, bored of it already, need demos, sharpish.
