Stopping Internet Explorer from appearing

I'm trying to force myself to use firefoz instead of internet explorer, but IE will often open pages instead of using firefox, this happens mostly opening my email from messenger, but it will happen other times too.

is there any way to kerb this and just let firefox do it all?

Think it's: Start bar-Set Program Access And Defaults-Custom(clik the expand arrow)-Select FireFox, and you're done (I think...)

Hotmail (linked from messenger) still opens in IE, I too have this problem.

Given the occasional firefox incompatibility I haven't had the guts to uninstall IE and see what happens then.

I've found a solution for it!
a little program called stuffplug, lets you monkey with some MSN settings and change the default browser.
