General Video/Audio Switchers

Been looking into a HDMI switcher recently and it's got me thinking - I have all these separate switchers, can I not just get one switcher that will do HDMI, Component and optical?

I know I could get an amp, but since I'm happy with my Z-5500's, I'd be using is as just a switcher, which seems like a bit of a waste.

I think that other than an amp/reciever like you have suggested you would have a hard time finding a switcher that does all you require, especially one that has no signal degradation. Once HDMI and component really become mainstream im sure you will see lots of switchers available, so my advice would be to wait a few years (thats what im doing) not much help I know, sorry!
